Dr. Diana Lafer, DVM

Dr. Diana Lafer founded Cats Limited in 1995. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Wesleyan University and her veterinary degree from Cornell University.

She is a member of several veterinary organizations, including the American Association of Feline Practitioners, The American Animal Hospital Association, The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, The American Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Information Network, and is a member of the Cat-Friendly Practice Advisory Council.

Dr. Lafer is also a member of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford,

Dr. Lafer has a dog (Ned).  She enjoys spending time with her two daughters, horseback riding, skiing, hiking and scuba diving.


Dr. Laurie Hester, DVM

Dr. Laurie Hester joined the Cats Limited team in 2005. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Southern Illinois University and her veterinary degree from University of Illinois.

She is a member of several veterinary organizations, including the American Association of Feline Practitioners, The American Animal Hospital Association, The American Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the Veterinary Information Network.

Dr. Hester has five cats (Cooper, Fiona, Marble, Louie and Oliver) and two dogs (Hank and Charlie). She enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, scuba diving and reading.


Dr. Katie McClaine, DVM

Dr. Katie McClaine joined the Cats Limited team in 2003. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from State University of New York (Buffalo) and her veterinary degree from Cornell University.

She is a member of several veterinary organizations, including the American Association of Feline Practitioners, The American Animal Hospital Association, The American Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the Veterinary Information Network.

Dr. McClaine has a cat (Colin) and a dog (Pippa). She enjoys playing the bassoon for the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra, exercising, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
