Our Companions
Our Companions is a nonprofit organization that believes no pet should ever be homeless. The staff, animal experts, and volunteers at Our Companions believe there's a proper home for nearly every pet. They’re working to create homes for the state's most abused, most neglected, and most needy pets. They offer dog training classes, one-to-one pet consultations, community education, and many other services.
In the future, they’ll offer Connecticut's first Pet Resource Center, which will include a domestic animal sanctuary on 43 acres of generously donated land. This project will provide a community destination having a spay/neuter clinic, low-cost dog training center, community center, pet assisted therapy programs, dog park, hiking trails and reflection gardens. At the sanctuary every animal will be saved from destruction and receive special care. Once healed, they'll become great candidates for adoption into loving, permanent homes.
To find out more about Our Companions and the work that they do, please call (860) 242-9999 or visit them online.
Siamese Cat Rescue
The job of Siamese Cat Rescue Center (SCRC) is to help Siamese and Siamese mixed cats find new homes. These cats come to them from a wide variety of situations. They try to get to know these cats, focusing on their health and their behavior, match them with families that are comfortable with any issues that they may have, and then transport them home. SCRC has a shelter facility located in Locust Dale, VA, about 1.5 hours southwest of Washington DC, and foster homes throughout the Eastern US. Their adoption program is based on the concept of your "saving a life", and they are there to help you be successful in that endeavor.
